Last January, LG has released a smartphone which adds to their roster of mobiles coming from the L-series. The said mobile has been labeled as the LG Optimus L3 E400 and is one of their budget smart phone. The mobile itself runs on Google's Android OS, specifically the 2.3 version or what is commonly called as the Gingerbread. As of now there are no confirmations or announcements whether the mobile would be available to be updated up to the latest version.
The mobile comes in two different colors. One is black and the other one is white. It has a rectangular design and has square edges which makes it similar to mobiles like the iPhone 4S. It features a 3.2 inch touchscreen display which has a screen resolution of 240 x 320 and a pixel density of 125 ppi. Beneath the display screen is a home button and two other touch sensitive navigational keys which lies on both sides of it. The menu and back button would actually light up when the user touch either of them.
The mobile is quite small but is not that thin. It measure 102.6 mm in height, 61.6 mm in with and 11.9 mm in depth which makes it thicker than any other smart phones but definitely not the thickest one that we have encountered. The mobile is also light and weighs only 110 grams which is just directly proportional to its aforementioned dimensions.
The mobile is great to have and if you are planning to have one, here are just some of the best deals that UK carriers are offering. O2 is offering the mobile for free when you go for a £41 per month contract which has a duration of 24 months. The said deal comes with an unlimited text and 1200 call minutes. O2 is also offering it as a pay as you go for £99.95. On the other hand, carphone warehouse is offering the mobile for free through Vodafone for a £15.50 per month deal with a span of 24 months. In comparison to the previous deal, the mobile only comes with 500 texts and 100 call minutes per month. The other carriers include Three, T-Mobile, Orange and Virgin.
If you are still having doubts whether the mobile is worth the price, then here is a summary of the mobile's other features and functionalities. The mobile sports a 3.15 megapixel rear camera which is capable of taking pictures at a maximum resolution of 2048x1536 pixels and could record vdieos at VGA quality at 24 frames per second. It does not have a secondary camera but features a geo-tagging function.
The LG Optimus L3 E400 also supports HTML5 and Adobe flash making it possible for the mobile to load complex web pages. Watching Youtube videos is also possible and as well as using Internet based applications such as Google Talk, Google Search and Goole Maps. The mobile packs a 1500 mAh battery which could last up to 600 hours in both 2G and 3G while on standby. In talk time, it lasts up to 12 hours in 2G and 10 hours in 3G.
The LG Optimus L3 E400 is a decent phone to have, combining both features and functionalities at a low cost.
