  • If there is a phone in the history of smart phones which has created undying buzz; it is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. Both the gaming world and the smart phone industry have been waiting in anticipation for the official announcement of the phone's existence. Currently all that is known about the gaming phone is leaked information which may or may not be entirely accurate. The phones expected retail price is still unknown but judging from its dual nature it is expected to retail at quite a sum. The phone is however slated for release in April 2011 after its official announcement at the Mobile World Congress to be held in February.

    The phone which will be a hybrid of Sony's PSP Go is expected to encompass gaming capabilities in a smart phone making it the first of its kind. Initially it was thought that the phone would be known as Xperia Z1. Sony recently acquired a trademark on four domains including an Sony Ericsson Xperia Play domain which strongly indicates that the phone will be known as Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. The leaked information relating to the phone has been attributed to reliable officials from Sony which further confirms that the phone could be in the works.

    Judging by the craze about this phone which has not officially been announced to exist by Sony; the gaming phone will be a definite hit following its release both to the gaming fans and Sony Ericsson phone enthusiasts.
